A Tayside Lettings Agency was described as an ‘untouchable business’ as it was awarded bronze in the ‘Best Scotland Lettings Agency’ category at a glitzy ceremony held in London last week for The Lettings Agency of the Year Awards.

Wardhaugh Property, which has properties across Dundee and Angus triumphed against large, national agencies at the UK-wide Lettings Agency of the Year Awards in London to scoop the prestigious prize.

The Lettings Agency of the Year Awards, in association with the Times and the Sunday Times, celebrate the best of the best in the industry across the United Kingdom, and is the only awards event solely focussed on lettings.

In a difficult to judge category, Wardhaugh Property was hailed as ‘one to watch’ and praised for offering great value-for-money service for both landlords and tenants. The judges also commented that the company ‘punches well above its weight’ and ‘manages to achieve great things’ in the Tayside area.

Demonstrating the value of locally based, independent agents in rural areas, the judges went on to praise the small agency for its high-level community presence and strong participation in local initiatives, noting Wardhaugh’s excellent drop-in service and advice evenings for customers.

Director Amanda Wiewiorka was personally recognised by the judges for her legislative knowledge and dedication towards improving industry standards. Her unrivalled experience, expertise and passion for the industry and location were also mentioned as key winning qualities.

The judges went on to say how strongly they felt about Wardhaugh Property and that the ‘panel looks forward to seeing even more great things in the future’.

The awards ceremony took place in London at The Lancaster London Hotel on Friday 10th June and saw the top lettings agency’s from throughout the UK gather to find out who had been judged to be the best of the best. This year’s celebrity speaker was former rugby union player and coach, Sir Clive Woodward.

“It was an enormous privilege to be invited, as Property ombudsman, to chair the judging panel for these important awards. I was hugely impressed with the quality and quantity of entrants. My personal congratulations to the winners and my thanks to the judging panel.”

On 28th May 2012 Lindsays merged with Shield and Kyd, creating a unique network of offices across Scotland capable of delivering a broad range of services to all clients irrespective of geography.
Uniquely, the ex-Shield and Kyd Arbroath location was the only branch in the Lindsays’ network with significant expertise in Residential Letting Management. Lindsays has today announced that Wardhaugh Property Management will assume responsibility for the management of the residential letting portfolio, currently estimated to be around 100 properties.
